Where have I been?

So….I may have missed a blog post or 2.  So here’s what you’ve missed!

My big girl Miss E turned 1 in September.

Wild. Child.

Merry Christmas 2010!  Miss E has a wonderful Christmas and we were all awaiting Miss O… I was 7 months pregnant.

Silly girl was already kicking her sister.

In March of 2011 Miss E became a big sister.  Miss O entered the world at a whopping 7 lbs and 19.5 inches long after getting stuck in the birth canal they went in after her!

A Little beat up and grouchy.

My little family is complete.

So here we are….

napping…

and biting our own toes.

Yup…. that seems about right.

Well, that’s where I’ve been.  Where have you been?

Vacation, vacation…Part II

Less than 24 hours after we returned from Memphis, Miss E and I left for Panama City Beach with my sister-in-law, niece and nephews.

Miss E got to see the ocean and experience sand for the first time….she LOVED both!

Going ANYWHERE with my SIL means pictures…so we all got dressed up and did pictures on the beach.

We had a great time!  The weather was nice and the kids LOVED teaching Miss E all kinds of new things!

By the end of the week we were exhausted and missing The Housepkant!!!

I LOVE vacations…but there is NO place like home!!

Vacation, vacation….

So The Housepkant, Becca, Miss E and I went to Memphis, TN for one of my best friend’s son’s first birthday.  Get all that?  We had a GREAT time!

On the way, we stopped at Bucksnort, TN (yes, that IS a real town) to grab some lunch and stretch our legs.  Apparently Bucksnort is the home of the pinball museum.  Weird…but awesome!

While in Memphis,  we took the girls to Graceland. The Housepkant was quite impressed with Elvis’ sense of style.

But more so his taste in cars.  Apparently this car was made in Indianpolis.  Hmm…who knew…The Housepkant apparently.

Miss E checked out the grass at Graceland.  It’s the small things in life.

We celebrated with the Birthday Boy with an Easter Egg Hunt.  It happened to be Miss E’s first…

And we did our fair share of playing…and Miss E showed her sassy side.

On our way home we passed Cooter, Arkansas…who would CHOOSE to live there?

Oh…and Miss E was fed up with our driving….so she took the wheel.

Vacation Part II next time…

The Cupcake Camper.

I heart cupcakes.

The Housepkant and I found this AWESOME cupcake camper a couple of months ago.

It’s a vintage airstream that has been parked outside of a local outdoor mall.

The cupcakes… delicious.

I had a Red Velvet cupcake.

The Housepkant had a Strawberry Shortcake cupcake.

The Cupcake Camper was the PERFECT discovery for the Cupcake Governess.  Fo Sho.  ;)

Oh…and…look at this princess at Easter:

Shit, being a stay at home mom is hard!

I went back to work when Miss E was 8 wks old.  It didn’t take long for me to realize that was no longer where I belonged, so about a month later I was a stay at home mom.

Like an idiot I ASSUMED I would be like June Cleaver and have a spotless home and a piping hot dinner waiting for The Housepkant on the table when he got home from work.  Yeah right!  For the first month he came home to a crying baby, a messy house, and an even messier wife.  I mean a MESSY wife.  I think I went nearly 6 wks without shaving my legs… talk about a sex kitten!

Now, here I am, about 3 months into official stay at home mom status and I have managed to keep the dishes under control… and I think that’s about it.  Baby steps, right?  Baby steps.

My most recent venture, is our finances.  The housepkant put me in charge of finances and a budget.  Please let me explain that I have NEVER been good with or responsible with money.  So, with some awesome resource tips from friends I am trying to change the way we, as a family and I as an adult woman spend money.  Did I mention my house is still a disaster and I am trying to master 12 credit hours at school?

Now, Miss E.  She is one awesome kid!  She is rolling around and doing a pretty bang up job of sitting up on her own.  But she would rather be standing and bouncing.  She  has not time for baby things…she’s a girl on a mission and she is going places… if only her Jumperoo moved!  I have a hold me baby and maybe that is a result of her mommy (I’m not the ONLY guilty party) holding her all of the time.  But I guarantee that in 30 years, while people are wishing they would have spend more time with their babies…  I won’t be regretting holding her instead of getting the laundry done.  I’m no perfect momma, I let her pull on the dog’s ears and I let the dog lick her right in the face and she naps when and if she wants to and eats however much she pleases but she knows and loves her momma and that’s all that matters to me.

So here I am… back at blogging… vowing to do better…

Resuming my 365:

Something else I’ve accomplished in my absence: The perfect Fruit Pizza!  You likey?

Shit, being a stay at home mom is hard!

What is your best stay at home mom advice?
